"It is back to the old tactic, the one we know works. Hope for the best and prepare for the worst. And keep busy."
Ivan Noble is a brave man and his journal on the BBC website just has to be read.
The Alan Moore interview was amazing. I'd heard it all before, of course, being a huge fan of the big, hairy magician, but he told all of his anecdotes with such humour and panache that no one in the lecture theatre minded hearing them again.
I think everyone especially liked his story about how he had decided, on principal, to refuse all Hollywood money resulting from any 'work for hire' he had a hand in creating being optioned or filmed. In the first few days after his announcement multiple film deals came to fruition and he had to send the enormous cheques back to be distributed between the artists, but with a tear in his eye.
The interview will be on Radio 4 at some point, and was very entertaining.
