Just got home to find out that Will Eisner has passed away.
For anyone reading this who doesn't know of him, he was the man who single-handedly re-invented the language of the comics medium and showed that it could be much more versatile than everyone thought. (In fact he demonstrated that it was a bona-fide medium, and not just something someone does if they can't get 'proper' books published). If it weren't for him, it could be argued that there would not be such a thing as a comics industry today.
The comics equivalent of the Oscar is called the Eisner, and in the past each one has been presented by the man himself.
Eulogies, as one would expect, have erupted across the internet.
